Mid-Level Architect

About the role

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering and innovative solutions supporting defense, intelligence, energy and civilian sectors, is seeking a Mid-Level Architect for its Oak Ridge, TN office. The architect works alongside a Project Architect on large projects and may act as Project Architect on smaller ones, collaborating with other architects and designers to complete the technical parts of projects within scope, budget and schedule. The work is done in Oak Ridge, TN, with possible business travel.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program and Registered Architect.
• 5 to 15 years of professional work experience.
• Licensed Architect in Tennessee with current registration, or licensed in another state with ability to obtain Tennessee licensure within six months.
• Experience designing commercial and industrial facilities and delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and specifications.
• U.S. citizenship required; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work in the office and in a team atmosphere; must pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application and manufacturer-supplier selection.
• Competence with discipline-specific software such as Revit, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Competence with Microsoft Office.
• Follows established quality procedures and works within ISO 9000 or NQA-1 quality systems.

Preferred: LEED AP certification, DOE Q clearance, NCARB registration, experience leading a small group of architects and designers, DOE/NRC standards experience, Master's degree, and experience facilitating charrettes.
