Mid Level 3D CAD Modeler

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Mid Level 3D CAD Modeler to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division's Integrated Topside Design (ITD) program. The role covers 3D CAD model development of ship platforms and exterior systems and antenna installations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models of U.S. Navy ships for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, ITD
• Support shipboard laser 3D scanning
• Develop models used in Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) modeling and analysis

Required profile

• At least 3 years of demonstrated knowledge and subject-matter expertise in parametric modeling
• At least 1 year of product data management experience
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of: file and folder permissions, version history, checkout/check-in, revision control, workflows and product lifecycle states
• Demonstrated 3D CAD model development experience, for example ship design, creating models from technical data, reverse engineering native CAD models, or assemblies with more than 1,000 components
• Experience with DoD, ASME, ANSI and other military standards
• Active Secret US Government clearance, which requires US citizenship

Required skills

• Parametric modeling with Autodesk Inventor Professional (minimum 3 years); alternatively Solidworks, Catia, Pro-E, NX, Solidedge with an Autodesk Inventor Essentials certificate
• Product data management with Autodesk Vault Professional (minimum 1 year)

Preferred qualifications

• 3D CAD models of commercial antennas, lights or cameras
• Models for ship hulls, hull components, masts, structure or weapon systems
