Microsoft Technical Solutions Architect (IT SE III) – Government

About the role

AT&T Global Public Sector seeks a senior Microsoft Technical Solutions Architect to lead design, modernization, security, and automation of enterprise on‑prem Microsoft infrastructure for a government customer in Chantilly, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards and technology roadmaps for Microsoft technologies.
• Design, implement, and support highly available on‑prem solutions such as AD DS, Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI/AD CS, and remote desktop services.
• Develop automation using PowerShell and modern infrastructure tools, ensuring DISA STIG compliance and privileged access controls.
• Lead technical projects, perform root‑cause analysis, and mentor engineering teams.

Required profile

• 16 years of combined education and experience (e.g., bachelor’s + 12 years).
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 7+ years designing and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI/AD CS.
• PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• VMware, Hyper‑V, or comparable virtualization platforms.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, network segmentation.
• DISA STIG security standards, vulnerability remediation, and privileged access management.
