Metallurgist – Hermosa Taylor Project

About the role
South32 is looking for a Metallurgist to join the Hermosa Taylor Project team. The role will support the design, construction, commissioning and operation of the processing plant at the Hermosa site in Arizona.
Key responsibilities
- Scope, manage and perform metallurgical testwork, including geometallurgical studies.
- Provide technical input into the design of the processing plant and supporting infrastructure.
- Review and assess deliverables from external engineering firms.
- Develop training programmes, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the plant and laboratories.
- Participate in plant commissioning and support ongoing processing operations.
Required profile
- Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience conducting metallurgical testwork and supporting plant design.
- Ability to analyse test results and translate them into engineering recommendations.
- Strong communication skills to work with engineering teams and operators.
