Membership Coordinator

About the role

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking a Membership Coordinator to support its Office of Advancement. Reporting to the Director of Membership, you will help drive membership acquisition, renewal, and retention while delivering excellent service to our members.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate new member acquisition campaigns across direct mail, online, and onsite channels and analyze results.
• Assist the Director with strategic planning to achieve statewide membership growth.
• Manage the monthly membership renewal program, developing and testing retention and upgrade strategies.
• Design and implement member surveys to gauge satisfaction and collect insights.
• Represent the museum at events to promote membership and audience growth.
• Provide administrative support by monitoring the membership inbox, handling calls, and resolving member issues.
• Support budget monitoring, expense tracking, and payment request submission using internal and Commonwealth systems.

Required profile

• Experience providing administrative support in a professional environment.
• Experience working directly with clients, customers, or members.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• On‑site work Monday–Friday.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CRM software.
• Familiarity with project management platforms.
