Member of Technical Staff, Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

A new stealth startup incubated by Red Cell Partners is looking for a Member of Technical Staff, Forward Deployed Engineer. The role works directly with enterprise customers to understand their businesses and workflows and turn them into production-grade AI solutions. It is remote and based in the United States, combining software engineering, AI development, solution design and customer engagement, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Work with enterprise customer teams to understand their businesses, operating environments and workflows.
• Translate operational needs into clearly defined, AI-driven solutions.
• Own the end-to-end design, development, deployment and improvement of production-grade AI agents.
• Build data pipelines, integrations and supporting systems for customer environments.
• Develop evaluation systems that measure agent performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Turn business requirements into technical architectures, implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with Product, Platform, Research and Engineering teams and share lessons learned.
• Codify reusable engineering practices, agent patterns and technical frameworks.
• Diagnose technical and operational challenges and communicate progress and risks to stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack development with strong backend capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI applications in production.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers or stakeholders in complex environments.
• Ability to balance immediate customer needs with reusable technical patterns, and to travel to customer locations as required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Required skills

• Full-stack development and scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines and system integrations.
• Understanding of AI agent architectures, evaluation methodologies and agent operation.
• Ability to design evaluation systems and use performance data to guide iteration.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including with senior stakeholders.
