Medium Voltage Production Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring a Medium Voltage Production Operator for its Pinetops, North Carolina facility, working the 2nd shift. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and supports the unit in reaching its production targets by following the established systems and processes. The work is done on the shop floor, using machinery and equipment, and involves reading and interpreting technical diagrams and instructions for assembling products, systems and panels.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products, systems and panels, including packing integrated into the production lines
• Perform work manually or with light hand tools
• Carry out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process
• Follow standard operating procedures and keep the work area clean

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to safely use a ladder and to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs
• Physical endurance, as the work involves occasional lifting, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, twisting and standing for long periods

Required skills

• Use of tools such as tape measures, calipers, grinders and other hand tools as needed
• Frequent computer use for data entry, monitoring and communication
• Adherence to safety protocols and wearing of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed shoes
