Medication Nurse – Substance Use Disorder Treatment

About the role

The Medication Nurse at CRI‑Help ensures safe self‑administration of prescribed medications for residents in a substance‑use disorder treatment facility. Working on‑site in North Hollywood, you will coordinate medication compliance, maintain accurate records, and act as a key liaison between clients, nursing staff, and physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and safeguard self‑administration of approved client medications in accordance with residential regulations.
• Log all incoming medication, verify approvals, and maintain the medication inventory.
• Monitor clients’ medical status, report changes, and communicate medication responses to physicians via the Social Services Department.
• Alert the Social Services Manager to illnesses, accidents, injuries, or any other medical issues.
• Complete daily medication review audits and ensure accuracy of medication administration records.
• Document handling notes and care‑coordination notes in the electronic health record within required timeframes.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Required profile

• Current RN or LPN license with experience in residential or substance‑use disorder settings.
• Strong understanding of medication regulations and documentation standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
