Medical Student Advisor – Capstone Faculty Advisor

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth seeks a temporary part‑time Medical Student Advisor to serve as the Capstone Faculty Advisor for MD/MPH students. In this role you will guide students through the design, implementation, and completion of their capstone projects, ensuring integration of public‑health concepts and evidence‑based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and mentorship throughout the capstone experience.
• Assist students in developing project proposals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Review project drafts, offer constructive feedback, and monitor progress.
• Address academic or project‑related concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with the Capstone Coordinator and program leadership to ensure successful project completion.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, EdD, or equivalent) in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Professional certification or licensure in a relevant field is preferred.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office software.
