Medical Records Retrieval Lead – Legal (Experienced)

About the role

At Codes Health we are building a modern platform that automates end‑to‑end medical‑records retrieval for law firms and specialty healthcare providers. As a Medical Records Retrieval Lead you will spearhead the legal‑records retrieval function, working directly with hospitals, billing groups and other providers to deliver complete, compliant record sets quickly and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of record requests for assigned clients and provider networks.
• Develop, document and continuously refine playbooks for high‑volume hospitals and billing groups.
• Ensure all releases of information, affidavits and billing records are accurate and meet compliance standards with zero rework.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and partner with engineering and product teams to automate repetitive steps.
• Share best practices with teammates, standardise processes and contribute to raising the overall quality bar.

Required profile

• Significant experience in legal‑record retrieval, with a deep understanding of the process, providers and documentation.
• Strong work ethic and ownership mindset; you take pride in delivering results correctly the first time.
• Excellent verbal communication – comfortable calling provider offices and following up until the request is fulfilled.
• Highly organised and detail‑oriented, able to juggle multiple requests without errors.
• Comfortable learning new tools and workflows quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with record‑retrieval platforms and document management systems.
