Medical Records Clerk

About the role

The Medical Records Clerk supports the Cardiovascular Institute of the South by ensuring patient medical records are accurate, secure, and well‑organized. This position plays a vital part in maintaining confidentiality and facilitating smooth information flow across the clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Scan paper documents into patient charts following CIS standards while upholding HIPAA privacy.
• Maintain an orderly file room and ensure timely, accurate scanning of charts.
• Create, label, and repair physical charts to preserve their integrity.
• Deliver or forward electronic and paper documentation to the appropriate departments promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the institute’s mission and patient‑care philosophy.

Required profile

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to learn and maintain precise filing and record‑keeping procedures.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
• Commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality, and high accuracy standards.
