About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Medical Physicist Assistant 1 to support clinical medical physics activities in the radiotherapy clinic on the UHealth Medical Campus.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine machine and patient‑specific quality assurance (QA) on radiation‑producing equipment.
- Assist in acceptance testing and commissioning of new treatment machines.
- Support development and implementation of new technologies and clinical processes.
- Collect performance data and generate reports for review by the Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP).
- Investigate radiation‑safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare documentation for regulatory communications under QMP direction.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related technical or clinical environment.
- Strong learning agility and ability to adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
- Familiarity with equipment performance data collection and analysis.
