Medical Laboratory Technologist (Level 2)

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist 2 joins a multidisciplinary team at the Student Health Center, providing diagnostic testing for primary care, gynecology, and specialty services. The role emphasizes accurate testing, problem resolution, and collaborative patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment, conduct performance checks, and document quality improvement activities.
• Interpret, verify, and report test results using the lab information system and electronic health record, notifying providers of critical values.
• Perform venipunctures and specimen collection, label and prepare samples for analysis, storage, and transport.
• Manage inventory, conduct data analysis, and prepare quality assessment reports.
• Enter and distribute laboratory, insurance, and billing information while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Required profile

• Commitment to a collaborative care model and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ability to apply interpretive judgment to diagnostic testing.
• Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and regulatory standards.
