Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) PRN – Benton/Bryant

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS I, II, & III) on a PRN (as‑needed) basis to support the Benton/Bryant health facilities. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides essential laboratory services to improve patient care across the UAMS health system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and accreditation requirements.
• Document test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers.
• Participate in quality‑control and proficiency‑testing programs.

Required profile

• Current MLS certification (I, II, or III) and valid state license.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Ability to work flexible PRN shifts as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Ability to interpret and report laboratory results accurately.
