Medical Data Entry Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a Medical Data Entry Clerk to accurately transfer patient and administrative information into our electronic database. The role supports the healthcare team by ensuring data integrity and timely updates.

Key responsibilities

• Enter new and updated medical information into the database using keyboards, optical scanners, or other office equipment.
• Collect data directly from patients or customers and verify its accuracy against original documents.
• Create and maintain accurate spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
• Generate reports or retrieve data from the system as needed.
• Perform regular data backups and keep an organized filing system for source documents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous data entry experience preferred.
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with high accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of database concepts.
• Familiarity with optical scanners, fax machines and printers.
