Medical Biller – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Miami Transplant Institute is seeking a full‑time Medical Biller to manage billing processes, ensure accurate invoicing, and support patients and insurers with billing inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients, insurance companies, and laboratories with billing questions.
• Review and verify patient and insurance information, diagnosis codes, and authorization requirements, coordinating corrections as needed.
• Print daily appointment voucher reports and reconcile vouchers.
• Enter, review, and retrieve patient account data, ensuring accuracy.
• Submit completed billing batches to the appropriate offices each day.
• Monitor claim status and follow up on payments.
• Transmit coded treatment information to payers and coordinate insurance reimbursements with care providers.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; certification or license preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant medical billing experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
