Medical Assistant (Urology) – Full-time

About the role

The Department of Urology at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant to provide hands‑on patient care, support clinical procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Key responsibilities

• Assist providers with examinations and prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies and instruments.
• Perform vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, urine dipstick testing and document results in the patient record.
• Administer medication as directed, change urinary catheters, and escort patients to various hospital locations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, order and stock supplies, and perform clerical duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or agreement to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Florida HIV/AIDS training.
• No prior experience required; strong communication, ethical standards, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
