About the role

The Medical Assistant II provides comprehensive patient care with compassion and respect for individual spiritual beliefs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the MA II supports patients physically and emotionally, creating a safe environment that promotes healing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies and instruments for providers.
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and routine laboratory tests.
• Document patient information accurately in medical records.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring aseptic technique.
• Escort and transport patients throughout the hospital.
• Administer medication safely when directed (except in hospital‑based units where this is prohibited).
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and perform clerical duties as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Certification such as CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant).
• Adherence to ethical standards, therapeutic communication, and patient privacy regulations.
