Medical Assistant II – Full‑time, On‑site

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Human Genetics Department is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant II to provide direct patient care on‑site in Miami. Working under the supervision of a licensed physician, the MA II will support clinical procedures and ensure high‑quality, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist medical providers with multi‑skilled clinical tasks and patient healthcare management.
• Perform hands‑on patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and evidence‑based standards.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, charge nurse, and other team members to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, seeking assistance when needed.
• Participate in unit/clinic programs, meetings, and team‑building activities.
