About the role

The Medical Assistant I provides hands‑on patient care in the UHealth Tower, supporting clinical procedures and healthcare management in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, the role ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with clinical procedures while adhering to institutional policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication using available technology resources.
• Establish trusting relationships with patients and families, offering emotional support and respecting spiritual beliefs.
• Prioritize multiple tasks, respond to emergencies, and seek assistance when needed.
• Participate in unit/clinic programs, meetings, and team‑building activities.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other state and federal guidelines.
