About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to join the Oncology team at UHealth Doral Clinic. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, the MA2 will provide hands‑on patient care, support clinical procedures, and ensure a compassionate healing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform multi‑skilled tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
• Maintain accurate patient records and utilize clinic technology in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, providing emotional support and education.
• Prioritize and integrate multiple requests, ensuring timely and safe delivery of care.
• Participate in unit meetings, team‑building activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a culturally competent manner and respect patients' spiritual beliefs.
• Strong ethical standards, professionalism, and ability to respond to emergencies.
• Commitment to teamwork, positive morale, and constructive conflict resolution.
