About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Orthopedics is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 to support medical providers in delivering high‑quality, culturally competent patient care. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, the MA2 will assist with clinical procedures and patient management.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi‑skilled tasks to assist physicians, nurses, and designees in a busy orthopedics clinic.
• Provide hands‑on patient care, including preparation for exams, vital signs, and basic clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health record systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, addressing concerns and providing emotional support.
• Participate in unit/clinic meetings, contribute to team morale, and assist with conflict resolution.
• Continuously update clinical knowledge and pursue professional development opportunities.
