About the role

The University of Miami’s Executive Medicine Department is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 to support physicians and nurses in a Boca Raton clinic. The role involves direct patient interaction, preparation for examinations, and assistance with clinical procedures under physician supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and patient information for medical records.
• Administer injections, perform routine laboratory tests, and assist with dressing changes and leg wraps.
• Prepare treatment rooms and supply instruments for examinations.
• Assist physicians during physical exams by handing instruments and materials.
• Provide patients with basic instructions about procedures.
• Clean and sterilize medical instruments following sterile technique.
• Schedule patients for tests and complete laboratory forms.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Order, stock, and inventory supplies; escort patients within the facility.
• Follow university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active BLS provider certification (American Heart Association).
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA).
