Medical Assistant 2 – Full-Time Clinical Support

About the role

The Clinical Ops Diabetes department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 to provide hands‑on patient care in an onsite clinic. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, you will support medical providers with clinical procedures and ensure high‑quality, culturally competent care.

Key responsibilities

• Administer injections, treatments, and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Assist with patient care activities such as dressing changes and leg wraps.
• Prepare treatment rooms and supply instruments for examinations.
• Support physicians during physical exams by handing instruments and materials.
• Provide patients with basic instructions about examination procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments following sterile technique.
• Schedule patients for tests and complete required laboratory forms.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Order, stock, and inventory supplies; perform clerical duties as needed.
• Escort and transport patients to various hospital locations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (if mentioned).
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a licensed physician.
