Medical Assistant 1 – Full Time – Sleep Center

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 1 to join the Sleep Center team in Miami. In this role you will support medical providers by delivering hands‑on patient care and assisting with clinical procedures in a compassionate, culturally competent environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, diagnostic testing, and treatment protocols.
• Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and patient education.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical workspace.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, following institutional policies.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, charge nurse, and other team members to support high‑quality care.
