About the role

The Medical Assistant 1 provides hands‑on patient care in the UHealth Tower, supporting clinical procedures and healthcare management under the supervision of a licensed physician. This full‑time position emphasizes quality, safety, and compassionate service within the University of Miami health system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi‑skilled tasks to assist with patient healthcare management and clinical procedures.
• Deliver direct patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and physician directives.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, maintaining professional and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with Nurse Managers, Supervisors, and unit designees to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members, seeking assistance when needed.
• Participate in unit/clinic programs, meetings, and team‑building activities.
• Utilize technology resources for documentation, communication, and clinical information retrieval.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other state and federal regulations.
