Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessel & Piping Design

About the role

Thermon is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team in Morristown, TN. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and certifying pressure vessels and piping systems in strict compliance with ASME standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems and components according to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) and ASME B31 piping codes.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Lead or support pressure vessel and piping design projects from concept through fabrication and inspection.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams.
• Provide technical guidance to cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Extensive experience with ASME codes and standards.
• Proven ability to design and certify pressure vessels and piping systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
