Mechanical Engineer – Greater Seattle Area

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and production of specialized hardware products used in demanding real-world environments. The role involves working on products that integrate mechanical systems, electronics, and sensors throughout the full product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and package electrical components and sensors based on performance, environmental, user, and product constraints.
• Improve existing products using testing results, manufacturing feedback, and customer input.
• Investigate mechanical failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Design for manufacturability, support production activities, and develop CNC‑machined components using GD&T best practices.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and product renderings; maintain documentation with version control.
• Develop and execute test plans, perform risk assessments, and document results.
• Build and evaluate prototypes using FDM, SLA, and SLS 3D printing technologies and design components for resin casting.
• Develop fixtures, tooling, and procedures to support manufacturing operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of mechanical design or product development experience.
• Experience supporting products through design, testing, validation, and production.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability, CNC machining, and GD&T.
• Ability to perform hands‑on testing, analyze results, and make design recommendations.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD platform.
• Creation of 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• CNC machining design.
• FDM, SLA, and SLS 3D printing technologies.
• Resin casting design methods.
• SolidWorks PDM, Routing, or Weldments (preferred).
