Mechanical Engineer – Fluid Systems (2026 New Graduate)

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing the world’s first mass‑produced portable nuclear microreactors. The 2026 New Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Fluid Systems will own the design, build and production of the reactor’s primary and power‑conversion fluid loops, turning reactor heat into electricity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end engineering of fluid subsystems, including compressors, valves and heat exchangers.
• Perform thermal‑hydraulic and fluid analyses using hand calculations and finite‑element tools to verify performance and structural integrity.
• Conduct trade studies, select components, and develop piping and assembly designs.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials, manufacturing instructions and test plans.
• Identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate contracts and oversee sub‑assembly schedules.
• Execute risk assessments (FMEA) for all fluid subsystems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience designing, building and testing fluid systems.
• Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat‑exchanger design.
