Mechanical Engineer - Entry Level

About the role

We are seeking an entry‑level Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Horton Emergency Vehicles. You will contribute to the design, development, testing and validation of mechanical components used in our innovative ambulance platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing and executing fitness‑for‑use testing and product specifications for mechanical products and components.
• Create and review mechanical material part specifications and bills of materials.
• Use CAD or CAE software to develop structural designs, model new concepts and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Verify designs through calculations, analytical techniques and testing.
• Apply DFM methodologies and understand metal fabrication and assembly processes to deliver robust engineering packages.
• Fulfill customer shop orders while adhering to design rules and interface requirements.
• Define test requirements, interpret results and validate designs.
• Identify root causes of problems and execute corrective actions.
• Apply lean principles to improve manufacturing and business processes.
• Execute engineering changes through established documentation procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Entry‑level candidate able to work in a closely managed support role.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to perform calculations and interpret test data.
• Interest in automotive/ambulance manufacturing and metal fabrication processes.
