Mechanical Engineer – Design & Integration

About the role

Catania Product Development is looking for a senior Mechanical Engineer who can drive both design and integration activities across the full product lifecycle. You will work autonomously on hardware concepts, prototype builds, assembly, and testing, ensuring seamless transition from idea to functional product.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts, layouts, and detailed 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) from concept through prototype and test.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings and documentation.
• Apply engineering judgment to material selection, fabrication methods, manufacturability, and cost‑effective design.
• Support hardware integration, assembly, troubleshooting, and hands‑on prototype builds.
• Conduct test setups, fit checks, and implement design changes based on feedback.
• Collaborate with technicians, vendors, and fabrication partners to procure parts and prepare for integration.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Senior‑level experience in mechanical engineering, hardware product development, and rapid prototyping.
• Strong ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.
• Comfortable shifting between design tasks and execution based on project priorities.
