Mechanical Designer / Engineer – HVAC Systems

About the role

As a Mechanical Designer/Engineer you will join a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team to create innovative building systems and produce high‑quality construction documents for impactful institutional projects. The position focuses on HVAC design for a variety of facilities, including K‑12 schools, retail/mixed‑use spaces, hospitals, and commercial offices.

Key responsibilities

• Design heating, ventilating and air‑conditioning (HVAC) systems for diverse building types.
• Create detailed mechanical design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Conduct field investigations to verify conditions and gather data.
• Coordinate quality control, scheduling, and programming activities.
• Communicate progress and information with the MEP team.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in HVAC design and construction.
• Demonstrated facilitation experience.
• Strong understanding of duct and piping design, air handlers, chillers, and boiler systems.
• Experience performing load calculations, equipment selection, and wet/dry side system design.
• Knowledge of CBC, CMC, CPC codes, DDC controls, Title 24, HAP or Energy Pro.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for design specifications.
