Mechanical Design Engineer – Production Tooling

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative tooling, equipment, and processes for the manufacture of its eVTOL and eCTOL products. You will apply your industry experience and research skills to design, build, and validate manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design tools, jigs, fixtures and machines to support manufacturing processes.
• Develop solutions to improve efficiency, rate, quality, ergonomics, and safety.
• Evaluate and optimize existing manufacturing processes with new tooling.
• Collaborate with product design teams to enhance part manufacturability.
• Lead process ideation, creation, and development efforts.
• Support commissioning, validation, prototyping, and testing of tooling concepts.
• Fabricate and modify parts, including machining and welding.
• Create maintenance, troubleshooting, qualification, and calibration documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Self‑starter, well‑organized, disciplined team player with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or CATIA) and structural FEA.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y‑14.5 preferred).
• Knowledge of CFD, thermal analysis, and material properties.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Slack.
