Meat Clerk

About the role

The Meat Clerk is responsible for wrapping, packaging, and presenting cuts of meat and poultry in the store’s meat department. This role ensures that products are displayed attractively, remain fresh, and comply with safety and quality standards while providing friendly service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, label, and package meat, poultry, and seafood for display.
• Lift and transport merchandise from the back room to rolling carts or directly to refrigerated cases.
• Check product quality, monitor "sell‑by" dates, and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
• Maintain clean and organized refrigerated displays that are visually appealing.
• Follow all store policies, safety procedures, and uniform standards.
• Report any hazardous conditions immediately to the store manager.

Required profile

• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and excellent customer service.
• Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Physical ability to lift and move merchandise regularly.
• Basic knowledge of meat handling, labeling, and inventory rotation.
