Mathematics Instructor – Degree Level

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a qualified Mathematics Instructor to teach degree‑level courses at Gwinnett Technical College’s Lawrenceville campus. This full‑time, 12‑month position reports to the Dean of Education and supports the college’s mission to provide high‑quality technical education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for credited mathematics courses.
• Design curricula, syllabi, goals, and objectives aligned with accreditation standards.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on learning outcomes.
• Maintain program certification requirements and prepare necessary documentation.
• Manage classroom resources, budget requests, and equipment needs.
• Participate in staff development, workshops, and professional conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners on recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Mathematics (or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in the discipline).
• Credentialed to satisfy accrediting bodies for assigned courses.
• Experience teaching college‑level mathematics at two‑year or technical colleges.
• Proven ability in curriculum development and use of diverse instructional strategies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, faculty, and external stakeholders.
• Occupational competency and ability to work effectively in an academic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with advanced instructional technologies and common software applications.
• Experience with online instruction is a plus.
