Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician

About the role

Advantia Health is seeking a compassionate, team‑oriented Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient and occasional inpatient care at its Silver Spring, MD and Alexandria, VA locations. The role involves delivering high‑quality obstetric care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and supporting technology‑driven patient experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Perform minor and major OB/GYN surgical procedures, including amniocentesis and, when applicable, CVS.
• Manage high‑volume ultrasound services: fetal echocardiograms, first‑trimester screenings, anatomic surveys, and interpret antenatal assessments such as NST and biophysical profiles.
• Provide leadership and oversight to nurses, NPs, and medical assistants, ensuring adherence to protocols and quality standards.
• Participate in internal quality‑improvement initiatives and support technology enhancements that improve patient experience.

Required profile

• Board certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Board certified or eligible in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine.
• Active medical license in Maryland, Virginia, or DC (strongly preferred).
• Previous experience in a Maternal‑Fetal Medicine role is preferred.

Required skills

• High‑volume obstetric ultrasound interpretation (fetal echocardiogram, anatomic survey, first‑trimester screening).
• Procedural skills: amniocentesis, CVS (valued but not required).
• Interpretation of antenatal assessments: NST, biophysical profile.
