Materials Project Manager – Multiple Openings

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking multiple Materials Project Managers to join its supply chain organization in Austin. In this role you will coordinate material strategies, supplier interactions, and commercialization plans to support the production of advanced semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, and perform make‑versus‑buy analysis.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP, manage source selection, specification creation, and price negotiations.
• Execute commercialization material plans, manage change control, and track key process indicators and landed cost targets.
• Partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues and conduct risk assessments on critical parts.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in materials management and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and how the materials function integrates with other business areas.
• Leads small projects, solves complex problems, and influences cross‑functional teams.
• Communicates sensitive information effectively and builds consensus across stakeholders.
