Materials Management Manager (Hospital)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a full‑time Manager to lead Materials Management for its hospital and satellite units. The role focuses on designing, implementing and optimizing supply‑chain systems that ensure reliable delivery of critical patient‑care items.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supply‑chain systems, logistics platforms and data solutions across the university.
• Create vision, roadmap and multi‑year strategic plans for products and services.
• Collaborate with staff, senior management and other departments to plan, build and launch high‑quality product experiences.
• Utilize internal data, market research and marketplace intelligence to align plans and tactics.
• Manage the product development lifecycle from conception through testing and iteration.
• Ensure accurate inventory, efficient distribution and prevent outages of critical items.
• Set objectives, performance metrics and analyze data to optimize performance.
• Design business‑process changes to simplify end‑to‑end operations.
• Recruit, train and develop staff while establishing internal controls and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in supply‑chain, logistics or materials management.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles.
• Proven ability to direct, manage and evaluate department operations.
• Experience establishing goals that support strategic plans.
• Effective planning, delegation and supervision skills.
• Leadership ability to motivate, develop and train teams.
