Marketing Director – Asheville

About the role

In our continued mission to create shopping destinations that entertain, inspire, and bring communities together, Tanger is seeking a Marketing Director for its Asheville location. The role offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively within a flexible, Teams‑driven workplace that empowers connection, innovation, and impact across geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual marketing plan and budget to increase center sales and traffic, drive sponsorship and media sales, support corporate programs, and position the center as a good corporate citizen.
• Serve as the primary business development representative, prospecting, canvassing, and closing media, sponsorship, and non‑transactional revenue deals to meet annual revenue goals.
• Monitor and maintain the marketing budget, account for variances, adjust plans in response to real‑time business conditions, and complete monthly financial forecasts with updates to the General Manager.
• Assist the General Manager in developing a comprehensive strategic business plan.
• Create and execute national and local programs that integrate retailers, drive traffic and sales, generate revenue opportunities, and produce positive publicity, with trackable results and ROI analysis.
• Actively create and sell media, sponsorship, and programming opportunities to achieve personal and property sales goals and drive net operating income.

Required profile

• Proven ability to develop and implement marketing strategies and budgets.
• Strong business development experience, including prospecting and closing revenue‑generating deals.
• Experience monitoring budgets, managing financial forecasts, and reporting to senior leadership.
• Capability to collaborate with general management on strategic planning.
• Track record of creating and measuring the impact of retail‑focused marketing programs.
