Manufacturing Engineering Summer Internship

About the role

This summer internship offers engineering students hands‑on experience supporting Taco’s Manufacturing Engineering team. You will work on process and flow improvement projects, assist with tooling design, and help organize engineering documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to process and flow improvement and Gemba projects.
• Support design of tooling and components using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Create and update CAD files, equipment guides, and care manuals in the CMMS.
• Develop department‑specific documentation to meet ISO 9001 requirements.
• Organize team files and improve documentation structure on shared networks.
• Attend daily production, Gemba, and team meetings; present lessons learned to operations leadership.

Required profile

• Junior or senior enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• No travel required.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Computer‑aided design (CAD) modeling.
• Knowledge of process flow design, 3D CAD modeling, and Lean principles.
• Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
