Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a multi‑functional engineering team in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on improving yield, cycle time, on‑time delivery and cost while aligning engineering activities with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage engineering workload, conduct regular one‑on‑one sessions, and delegate tasks to meet strategic priorities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, drive yield enhancements, and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with production, facilities, R&D and thin‑film teams to sustain and improve process and equipment performance.
• Oversee documentation, training, and transfer of new processes from R&D to manufacturing.
• Support ECO and NPI processes, ensure fast technical review and costing for quotations.

Required profile

• BS in Engineering, Physics or related field (MS preferred).
• 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead strong technical teams.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) and Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, statistical tools, ERP systems, PLM tools and SQL.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for coated precision optics.
• Experience in optical metrology, assembly and coating processes.
• Quantitative analysis and quality‑tool application.
