Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes for the fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. The role works closely with design engineering, operations and quality teams to release product improvements and new products while reducing cost and improving quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve manufacturing methods, work instructions, process flows, build layouts and assembly procedures.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to implement product improvements and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Create, review and implement engineering change requests, assessing impacts on bills of material, drawings and production.
• Apply DFx, lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement principles to reduce cost, eliminate waste and enhance product safety and reliability.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards and recommend tooling, fixturing and equipment.
• Develop and evaluate test procedures, analyze operational data and perform root‑cause and failure analysis.
• Support supplier quality and manufacturing readiness activities, including audits and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time‑management and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment and perform physical tasks as described.
