Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established manufacturing organization to hire a Manufacturing Engineer in Barrington, IL. This permanent, on‑site position will evolve into a technical leadership role, becoming the subject‑matter expert for precision metal component processes and product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting for precision metal components, including metal forming, stamping, and spring manufacturing.
• Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement initiatives targeting scrap reduction, yield improvement, cycle‑time reduction, and cost savings.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations on new product introductions and process enhancements.
• Develop and refine tooling, fixturing, work instructions, and standardized manufacturing procedures.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues.
• Support capital equipment planning, process scalability, and capacity‑improvement projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians while contributing to long‑term operational strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in precision metal environments.
• Proven experience with metal forming, stamping, springs, or related processes.
• Strong background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis expertise.
