Manufacturing Automation Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space & Defense – Power & Data group is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to transform manual production procedures into automated, scalable processes. The role is onsite at the Highland Heights facility near Cleveland, OH, and reports to the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify automation opportunities and perform time studies and PFMEAs.
• Create technical specifications, functional requirements, integration methods and safety features for new equipment.
• Research, evaluate and select automation hardware, submit capital expense requests and onboard equipment.
• Program, integrate and verify robotics and automation systems with plant networks, MES, ERP and data systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation, operation diagrams and code libraries within Moog’s document control system.
• Provide training, support and hand‑over of automation equipment to production and process‑engineering teams.
• Lead cross‑functional projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating with IT, EHS, Facilities, and Manufacturing Process Engineers.
• Monitor automation performance and report project status to stakeholders.
