Manager, Research Support

About the role

The University of Miami’s Hussman Institute seeks a Manager, Research Support to lead grant application, management, and research operations for genetics studies focused on Alzheimer disease. This role combines administrative oversight with hands‑on recruitment and data collection across the United States and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Provide grant application and management support to ensure timely and compliant funding.
• Oversee research operations, maintain databases, and ensure adherence to good research practice.
• Interpret research protocols, collect and analyze data, and keep abreast of relevant scientific developments.
• Identify, recruit, and enroll Hispanic/Latino participants and families for Alzheimer genetics studies.
• Collect biological samples and clinical data according to study protocols, including travel to field sites.
• Organize and participate in community outreach to raise awareness of genetic research among underserved populations.
• Mentor junior research staff and students, and safeguard university assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in research support, grant management, or related areas.
• Experience with genetics or clinical research, especially participant recruitment.
• Ability to travel nationally and potentially to the Caribbean.
