Manager, Flight Controls & GNC

About the role

Regent is scaling its Seaglider program from prototype to production and needs a leader to own flight controls and guidance, navigation & control (GNC). You will direct the team that defines how the vehicle is controlled from dock to dock across multiple vehicle programs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and grow the flight‑controls team, identify capability gaps and hire to fill them.
• Review and, when needed, rework control models, analyses and generated code for flight tests.
• Own the controls release train into flight test, make tuning decisions on test days, and ensure readiness for certification.
• Define design basis, evidence plan and pathway from prototype control laws to a production‑grade system.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership in flight controls, GNC or a related vehicle‑controls discipline, with experience leading technical teams.
• Track record of taking control laws from development through real‑world flight test and certification activities.
• Ability to make sound technical judgments under pressure and collaborate across simulation, autonomy, embedded, aero and systems engineering.

Required skills

• MATLAB/Simulink for control design, modeling, simulation and analysis.
• Experience with CONDUIT and CIFER tools for flight‑controls analysis.
• Hands‑on expertise in model‑based development and flight‑test data interpretation.
