Manager, Expense Reimbursement

About the role

The Manager, Expense Reimbursement will lead the expense reimbursement function for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This position ensures accurate, timely processing of employee expenses while maintaining compliance with university policies and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end expense reimbursement process, including submission, review, approval, and payment.
• Coordinate with finance, payroll, and departmental staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain and update expense policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Generate regular reports on expense trends, audit findings, and compliance metrics.
• Provide training and support to employees on expense submission guidelines and system usage.
• Monitor and respond to audit inquiries and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in expense management or financial operations, preferably in a healthcare or academic environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels.
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations governing expense reimbursements.
