Mammography Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Mammography Technologist at its Waterman facility in Tavares, Florida. The technologist performs high-quality mammography exams, coordinates patient follow-up and supports breast center initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 2D and 3D mammography exams in line with provider orders and protocols, positioning patients and adjusting technical factors and compression
• Take part in patient tracking and follow-up, including recalls, additional imaging coordination and biopsy scheduling
• Support breast center initiatives such as accreditation preparation, community screening events and quality improvement activities
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems
• Collaborate with radiologists and the breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results
• Ensure patient identification, safety and comfort, and explain procedures clearly

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• 1+ year of experience
• Registered Mammographer (ARRT) and Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
• Valid licenses and registries to perform imaging procedures
• Ability to follow radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA

Required skills

• Knowledge of mammography and diagnostic radiological procedures
• Effective communication with people of diverse backgrounds
• Timely completion of mammography exams, even under pressure
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• PACS knowledge preferred
