Make Ready Specialist - Apartment Homes

About the role

A Make Ready Specialist at Elan East in Austin, Texas prepares vacant apartment homes so they meet quality standards for re-leasing. The role is full time and involves completing repairs and improvements before residents move in, following the community's make-ready checklist.

Key responsibilities

• Complete repairs and improvements to apartment homes before resident move-in, following the community's make-ready checklist.
• Caulk and seal windows, sink areas, toilets, bathtubs and showers as needed.
• Inspect sheetrock for damage and repair or replace it.
• Perform touch-up paint on vacant and occupied units as directed by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities: pick up trash and debris, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean generally, and paint curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost-control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials and tools correctly.
• Complete the make-ready checklist and other maintenance documentation on time.
• Follow safety policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents and incidents promptly.
• Treat residents with respect, answer their questions, respond sensitively to complaints and complete work orders efficiently.

Required profile

• Able to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods, bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects and crawl in confined spaces.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with assistance.
• Flexible schedule, including call duty on evenings, weekends and holidays; occasional travel to other properties or training may be required.

• Hourly pay of $17.00 - $18.00, with possible weekly, monthly or quarterly bonuses depending on whether the role is corporate or onsite.
