Maintenance Technician – Westheimer Property

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our Westheimer property team in Houston. The role ensures that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform diagnostic repairs in accordance with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks across building systems to minimize downtime.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Track inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, and communicate re‑order needs to the supervisor.
• Complete all required documentation promptly and accurately for service tracking.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities through cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal, and minor painting.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform hands‑on repairs.
• Familiarity with safety and risk‑management procedures.
• Strong organizational skills for managing work orders, inventory, and vendor schedules.
• Physical capability to handle manual labor and operate hand/power tools.
